Comments : I recently got the opportunity to buy a 73 DeTomaso  Pantera, with a Ford 351 (V8).  The car also came with a Holley 4-Barrel.  One of the \"excitement\" was owning a car with the distinct Pantera exhaust.  The car came stock with dual glass packs (no muffler) or if it was the European version it came with mini Ansa which really were not mufflers.  After 6 months, the excitement was over for me and I wanted a more tame sound, not a constant rattling sound.  It also seemed the glass packs were choking the engine exhaust.

Dan Schatek has been in Burlingame for quiet awhile but he was never \"noticed\" until he moved to one of Bridges Garages on California Drive.  I saw his shingle every time I drove down that street.  I decided to stop in.  Right away he and I talked the same language.  He knew what I wanted and said it was going to be tricky because of the lack of space but he would give it his best.  He also assured me when he was done, the exhaust would not look like a kit job.  He was picky about his work.  I had gone to one of his competitors down the street but I didn't get the same feel I did from Dan, although he was cheaper.

Well, the Pantera has dual Magnaflow mufflers and exhuast tips.  The exhaust sounds completely different from the glass packs and had the sound of an exotic car, rather than just a hot rod.  It now has a low, deep, throaty roar and upon acceleration a smooth sound.  The car runs  and breathes better.  I can talk to my wife and listen to the radio and the look is aggressive and menacing.  I took the car to the original seller and he wants the car back.  Seriously.
